Designers can make a machine small powerful or featurerichjust not all three at once.at least that was the prevailing wisdom until the Sony VaIoSZ Series arrived. the companys designers and engineers combined powerful components good battery life nearly every creature comfort a business notebook user could wantand of course the sleek style that has become a Sony signatureinto a slim 3.7pound package. Its the first nocompromise ultraportable to come through our labs.the centerpiece of the VaIo SZ is a sharp 13.3inch widescreen display. It features a 1280 x 800 WXGa native resolution and Sonys XBrite screen technology which makes DVD movie playback vivid and rich. the wide panel enabled designers to include a fullsized keyboard on the aluminumclad deck and the keys have a full 3mm of travel for a comfortable feel (other slim ultraportables make due with a 2mm keyplunge depth).Speed is also a strong suit. the VaIo SZ is built around a dualcore Intel Core Duo t2400 processor which speeds through business and multimedia tasks. It also means the notebook can handle true multitasking (say running a virus scan in background while you continue working) without missing a beat. For even better performance the VaIoSZ includes the Nvidia GeForce Go 7400 GpU.Slickest of all you can toggle that GpU off if the task at hand doesnt require such graphics horsepower boosting battery life.
