As part of the launch of our new games degree on the Coleraine campus of the
University of Ulster, the UUC computer game society is pleased to host three
after school computer game events this autumn. Everyone is welcome and admission
is free - please email to confirm attendance and ensure a place.

John Bustard from Sony speak on developing games for the
Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) . John has worked in the
games industry since graduating with a degree in Computer
Science from Cambridge in 2000. He worked Mythos Games
before moving to Just Add Monsters (JAM) in 2001, where he
contributed to "Kung Fu Chaos" for the Xbox and the upcoming
"Heavenly Sword". In 2004, he joined the Cambridge Studio
of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe as a senior programmer.
His main work so far has been on the mini-games
for "MediEvil: Resurrection", a launch title for the PSP.
Getting a Job in the Games Industry
Time: Monday, November 7th at 6pm
Venue: Lecture Room TBA, Central Buildings, University of Ulster, Coleraine
Tony Kelly talk on game development and how to get started in the industry, placing
particular emphasis on the local possibilities. Tony is the founder & co-ordinator of the
Irish chapter of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA), and a member of
Digital Games Research Association (DIGRA) - as well as a member of the IGDAs Production
SIG. Tony worked for Intel for over 5 years as a Senior Producer for the IT Innovation
group, where he set up and ran a Serious Games & Simulations team. He now works as a
Producer for Torc Interactive, a games & middleware developer in Donegal.
