PlayStation 3 Game Design and Development Talk Page 1 How to Design and Sell a MultiMillion Dollar Next Generation Game John Bustard Creative Director Sony Entertainment Cambridge March 20th 2007 5.30 pm in Lecture Theatre 1 (LT1) South Building University of Ulster Coleraine CampusRefreshments from 5pm John Bustard Creative Director of an unannounced Next Gen PS3 project for Sony Entertainment Cambridge will describe the design and development process through which new game ideas are identified selected and implemented. This talk will take place just before the European launch of the PlayStation 3 and will start by summarising the features of the new game console pointing out some of the opportunities and challenges it offers to game developers. This will then be followed by an outline of the game development process in Sony showing the steps in taking an initial concept into a practical game that excites the audience inspires the developers and satisfies the sponsors.
