Content Inside:
www . DanHotka .com Quarterly Newsletter DHotka@Earthlink.net Winter 2003 Dan Hotka is a Training Specialist who has over 24 years in the computer industry and over 19 years experience with Oracle products.  He is an internationally recognized Oracle expert with Oracle experience dating back to the Oracle V4.0 days.  His current book, TOAD  Handbook by SAMS is now available on www.Amazon.com.  He is also the author of Oracle9i Development By Example and Oracle8i from Scratch by Que and has co-authored 5 other Oracle-related books.  He is frequently published in Oracle trade journals, and regularly speaks at Oracle conferences and user groups around the world. A Note from the Editor… owa enjoyed a nice fall.   I kept busy with both on-site training and several user group visits in October.    I purchased (yet) another VW Beatle Convertible (a blue one this time…a true bucket but a non-rusty bucket!). I have created a new class: Oracle SQL Statement Tips and Techniques.  The need for this had come from the Tuning and Troubleshooting workshop (now renamed Advanced SQL Tuning Tips and Techniques) as there were always several that really needed a not-so-advanced course. I have also reworked all the lab exercises/answers/and helpful walk throughs into a web-interface. Now, help is only a click away! Again I include a useful TOAD tip and I have also included an index problem discovery script. My latest marketing idea includes referral fees. Please make sure to read how this program works and how you and/or your organization can benefit. I hope you enjoy this newsletter. Feel free to pass it along to others. Email me if you would like to be added to this distribution list.  This newsletter, along with all prior newsletters are available at www.DanHotka.com. Whats in this issue? Whats New Page 2 Book Review Som ...
