Basic Operation Note:
GL-4200B must be used with darkroom hood or cabinet outfitted with a 58mm adapter ring, such as GeneLine GL-1001, GL-1101 or GL-1201.

Preparing camera assembly: (refer to Canon user guide for detailed instructions)

After installations of memory card and (4) AA batteri es, carefully remove lens ring on camera by depressing Ring Releasing Button in front of camera. Then attach camera conversion lens adapter (GL-0150B), close-up lens (GL-0120) and, if applicable, the UV/IR filter (GL-2100) for imaging UV fluorescent samples (i.e. ethidium bromide gels).

Attaching camera assembly: Carefully align then screw camera assembly onto the threaded universal 58mm camera adapter ring attached to the darkroom hood or the camera adapter on the cabinet.

Note: Do not OVER ROTATE the camera assembly. Doing so will strip threading on the adapter ring. If camera assembly is skewed in relation to the image, adjust the camera by loosening the screws holding down the (4) clips and slightly turning the adapter ring until camera assembly adjustment results in image squarely in viewing position.

Starting Image Acquisition: (refer to Canon Software Starter Guide for detailed instructions)

1. Turn on computer and load the Digital Camera Solution Disk software into CD ROM drive. 2. When prompted, connect USB cable on side of camera to customer-supplied PC, MAC or laptop. 3. Digital camera is now ready to take pictures with a transilluminator or epi-illumination (UV lamp) light source.
